In seasons 7 and 8, the EGFH continued to grow as more high schools recognized the importance of esports programs. With more teams, more conferences were added for regions across the country allowing teams who lead each season to progress into a regional championship and from there, nationals. The top teams from each region secured spots in the 2021 EGFH Disney National High School Championships in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Overwatch, and Rocket League, with the Grand Finals showcased on ESPN2.
